Description

Specialty, non-profit within the Wilmington Delaware area is looking to hire a Controller with proven financial reporting, and grant administration experience. In this role, you will establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the institution’s assets, liaise with external auditors during financial audits, manage/review accounts payable/receivable transactions, analyze variances, perform budgeting tasks, provide financial analysis, collaborate with other departments and stakeholders across the institution to support financial needs and objectives, and advise management on needed updates per legislations. We are looking for a candidate who can drive cash generation, improve financial accounting systems, and provide management with the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.

Major Responsibilities

· Review and manage accounting operations

· Oversee and review daily and month end close transactions

· Perform financial analysis

· Cash Management/Cash Receipts

· Budgeting, Forecasting, Planning

· Manage monthly/quarterly and year-end closing

· Assist with payroll activities

· Tax Reporting

· Monitor software enhancements

· Provide financial leadership

· Internal Control Monitoring

· Assist with internal/external audit

· Manage, coach, and train accounting staff`

Requirements

The ideal Controller will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.

Other requirements for the Controller role include and are not limited to:

· 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a non-profit organization

· CPA preferred

· Prior software implementation and system experience

· MS Dynamics GP highly preferred

· Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
