Willows is a city and the county seat of Glenn County, California, located in the Sacramento Valley region of Northern California and is in a fabulous location in CA where there are year-round outdoor activities in the agricultural heartland and close to the Sierra Mountains and not far from the Pacific Ocean. Willows is 23 miles SW of Chico and 75 miles NW of Sacramento, California. Willows and Nearby Attractions include Parks and Lakes for fishing and boating, Chico Museum, Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park, Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge, Willows Westside Mall Shopping Center and the mountains for camping, bike riding and winter activities. The population is approximately 6,300, which gives you a small-town feel, but it is very near to the City if you want to take advantage of what the City has to offer.

Qualifications

The Project Manager will be working with an excellent small team and empowered with the responsibility for administering and overseeing all aspects of management, operation, and maintenance activities at the plant.

California Grade 3 Wastewater Operator Certification is required. Ability to get a Grade 4 Wastewater Certification through reciprocity.

Salary: $95k-$115k depending upon level of experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Formulates project goals, strategies, and SOPS. Directs implementation of approved changes. Responsible for achieving growth targets by managing new business development activities and contract negotiations, as well as securing renewals and scope expansion.

  • Manages teams related to hiring, onboarding, performance management, utilization, training, development, salary, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Coaches individual and team performance and improvement.

  • Maintains contract compliance and account management. Meets with client representatives and council to discuss facility operations, maintenance, and capital projects as required. Attends council meetings as required.

  • Prepares and administers annual operating and capital budgets. Composes reports for the assigned area as required.

  • Ensures all SOPs are followed and DOT, OSHA, Healthy and Safety and other requirements are met. Conducts routine facility inspections. Interacts with regulators as required.

  • Responsible for the financial performance of the project, including client invoicing and account payables/receivables.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience : Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in the operation and management of a wastewater treatment facility, 5+ years.

Licenses/Certifications: California Grade 4 Wastewater Operator Certification and a valid driver's License are required.

Technical : Knowledge of wastewater facilities. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Ability to interpret analytical results.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work environment is characterized by sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting, which are required to perform job responsibilities. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
