Senior Manager, Asplundh Fleet Services (AIG)

The Fleet Services Senior Manager will primarily focus on Asplundh’s Infrastructure Group (AIG) and will be responsible for supporting the vehicle and equipment needs of the business. As a key leader on the Fleet team, you will oversee and guide equipment specifications, utilization, capital budget planning, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement. You will also play an active role in developing the overall fleet strategy, supporting the execution of maintenance and repair strategies, and ensuring the timely provision of equipment, parts, and related services.

This role serves as the point of contact for business unit leadership, coordinating resources to meet all equipment-related needs for AIG. You'll work with key stakeholders to set operational goals and develop strategies to achieve them. This position is crucial in ensuring that fleet planning, processes, assets, and services are aligned with our operational objectives and strategic growth plans, all while maintaining cost efficiency.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Act as the Corporate Fleet’s primary point of contact for AIG on strategies to improve fleet service and optimize fleet costs.

  • Collaborate with Fleet and Procurement Services to ensure accurate equipment orders and timely deliveries.

  • Standardize equipment specifications across business units to meet enterprise needs.

  • Build strategic partnerships with stakeholders to create a trusted relationship with senior leadership.

  • Analyze and solve complex problems, even in ambiguous environments with unstructured data.

  • Build and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers in partnership with the Fleet Services and Procurement teams.

  • Ensure compliance and effectiveness of corporate fleet management solutions, including telematics and maintenance programs.

  • Develop rental strategy, ensuring optimal mix and process governance.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of direct experience in fleet management or similar roles.

  • Experience in managing large fleets (On Road and Off Road)

  • Ability to work effectively in a complex, rapidly changing business environment.

  • Strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking with the ability to assess problems and find solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort in a fast-paced setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute time-sensitive tasks.

  • Experience leading diverse, multi-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local fleet and safety regulatory requirements (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, etc.).

  • Strong presentation skills, effective written communication, and the ability to persuade leadership.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires travel of up to 20-30% to multiple Asplundh and supplier locations

As a full-service utility contractor, Asplundh performs tree pruning and removals, right-of-way clearing and maintenance, vegetation management with herbicides, and emergency storm work and logistical support.
