Wendel is currently seeking a Department Manager to oversee the Water/Wastewater Engineering Resource Group out of our Williamsville, NY headquarters. This leadership position has the critically important role of coordinating project work with our water/wastewater leaders and technical team. Responsibilities include scheduling of project teams, coordinating team commitments and deadlines, managing the groups utilization, technical training, quality, mentoring and coaching of technical professionals. This leadership role serves as a liaison between company management objectives and technical team project efforts. Candidates who have the desire to grow into this leadership role under the guidance of current Wendel team personnel are encouraged to apply. In addition to these management responsibilities, this Engineer/Department Manager will serve as both a technical lead and project manager for medium to large scale study, design, and construction projects involving water and wastewater treatment, storage, pumping and distribution/collection systems.

Responsibilities: Work in a collaborative team environment to assist with administrative duties and assignments to meet the needs of the particular resource group as well as the departments internal and external clients. Relies on judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision. Reports to the Manager of Administrative Services. Administrative tasks to include planning, scheduling, tracking, and updating of various reports. Coordination, organization, production, and quality assurance of project documents. Process and manage contracts, purchase orders, and change orders. Process and manage project RFIs, RFPs, punch lists, meeting minutes, requisitions, and daily reports. Create various spreadsheets, databases, and tables for projects and programs. Production and assembly of construction specifications and bid documents. Proofread and/or edit letters and reports. Organize and schedule meetings. Handle confidential information. Preparation of project material for client delivery. Copying, filing, and faxing as needed. Support reception and other Project Assistants as needed. Training of new employees as needed. May support other disciplines.

Qualifications: Associates Degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the field or in a related area. 6-10 years of experience is preferred. Strong skills in prioritization, organization, coordination, flexibility, multi-tasking and excellent written and verbal communications required. Good grammar, accuracy, proofreading, aptitude for numbers. Detail oriented, organizational and planning skills. Any experience in construction administration and experience using construction management software is a huge plus. Experience Microsoft Office Suite is required. Commitment to team-oriented approach.
