Bekum America Corporation Apprentice Trainer (Industrial Skilled Trades) in Williamston, Michigan

*SUMMARY: * This position will provide structured, supervised experience to first-year apprentices, generally within the first 1,000 hours, to facilitate timely training and skills development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Administers the Bekum America Standards of Apprenticeship in accordance with the Department of Labor, and in partnership with Lansing Community College.

Together with Apprenticeship Committee interviews and selects candidates for entry into the Company's Apprenticeship program.

Develop lesson plans, hands on projects, and processes based on the approved standardized curriculum, while organizing and documenting activities.

Coordinates with assigned mentors for apprentices based on area of responsibility.

Meets with apprentices and mentors to assure program and training progression in a timely and consistent manner.

Attends apprentice related recruiting events and participates in the advisory board for Lansing Community College to cultivate the talent pipeline for the apprenticeship program.

Participates in apprenticeship committee meetings, providing feedback and individual support for apprentices.

Work in classroom environment and be able to "work out of the box" to meet changing conditions.

Maintain organized and clean classroom and workspace.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two (2) year college or technical school; or five (5) to seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have equivalent combination of education and experience.
