JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides operational support in partnership with business unit leadership, plans and implements human resources initiatives designed to maximize organizational effectiveness through talent management processes and job/organization design. The HRBP aligns HR initiatives with business objectives and coordinates with Human Resources Center of Excellence (COE) leaders to execute objectives consistent with Corporate Business and HR strategy, policies, and practices. The incumbent will be a direct report to the Manager Human Resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Be a visible human resources representative to all levels of employees through consistent interaction, meeting with supervisors and leaders and proactively building a relationship of trust with them.

  • Interpretation and application of bargaining unit contractual language.

  • Provide guidance and direction to leadership on union contract matters and HR Business Partner initiatives.

  • Recruitment of unionized positions.

  • Acts as a partner in talent development and organizational succession planning. With leaders, develops and administers the business unit and/or organizational Talent Review.

  • Acts as advocate and advisor to employees and leaders regarding career and leadership development initiatives. Seeks guidance with more complex issues.

  • In collaboration with the respective functional personnel, coordinates staffing forecast to project employment/deployment needs. Where appropriate, coordinates hiring activities with the Talent Acquisition Center.

  • Administers compensation processes for the designated function(s) within guidelines of Growth and Equity review.

  • Collaborates with client group to manage employee job performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Seeks guidance with more complex issues.

  • Develops and delivers presentations to leaders and employees regarding human resources policies and practices.

  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces project, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Acts as primary contact for employee issues/resolutions.

  • Contributes to team effort by acting as part of the team to accomplish team objectives.

  • Monitors and tracks required reporting and people related metrics.

  • Educates and implements activities, programs and/or policies to reinforce a positive culture in the workplace.

  • Operates within the boundaries of the Textron Business Conduct Guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Five plus years experience

  • Previous experience in unionized workplace preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field from an accredited college.

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal labor and employment laws.

  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate at all levels of an organization

  • High level of trust and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team

  • Able to diagnose problems, suggest solutions and help establish HR priorities and operating mechanisms to implement change

  • Customer focus with strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential data

  • Able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative in a highly dynamic environment.
