UPMC Diagnostic Technologist/Diagnostic Technologist Adv. - Schedule as Needed - Williamsport in Williamsport, Pennsylvania

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Technologist/Advanced Diagnostic Technologist! This role will work eight-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. No weekends are required but you will work rotating holidays; on-call responsibility is Monday through Friday 11:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Whether you're an experienced imaging professional or a new graduate eager to gain experience, this could be your opportunity!

The Diagnostic Technologist performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs various technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialists in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.

  • Demonstrates competency in specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly. Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.

  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up-to-date protocols and procedures.

  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and can cover off shifts, and on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with the lead and management team.

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology. 2 years of Diagnostic experience required. Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on the most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS RequiredCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • ARRT Certificate

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
