SUMMARY:

Under supervision, installs a variety of package parts.  May measure and inspect tubes using various precision measuring instruments.  Uses basic math calculations to determine whether tube meets specification limits.  Carry out routine work assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leak checks on various tubes to confirm tube is leak tight.
  • Installs various assemblies and parts on tubes using basic hand tools and fastening devices.
  • Performs potting operations on various tube types using RTV potting compounds along with potting fixture.
  • Basic soldering of wires, wire connectors on sub-assemblies.
  • Sandblast various tube types and assemblies.
  • Soldering and welding on various tube assemblies.
  • Carry out routine work assignments with minimum amount of supervision.
  • Maintain safe work practices (per Facility Safety Policies).
  • Maintain area in clean and orderly manner..

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good manual dexterity
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, drawings, and use of precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience in soldering and welding.
