HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I COMPENSATION: Grade 3, \$23.39/hr to \$29.98/hr DOQ: 40 hours per week, union position, full benefits LOCATIOn: DPW Building, 2721 Boston Road EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Performs general operator and laborer duties for the DPW which includes; Highway Department, Waste Water, Water and Solid waste Divisions. Performs safe and competent operation of equipment and machinery, hand tools, light and heavy motor equipment, including a backhoe, front-end loader, mini-excavator, skid steer, sweeper, sander, snow plow, road side mower, catch basin cleaner, vibratory screener, roller, small and large trucks, chippers, mowers, tampers, chainsaws, saws, brush power cutters, jackhammers, compressors, and other power equipment. Participates in the Town?s snow and ice removal operation and emergency response. MIN. QUALIFICATIONS: Equivalent to high school plus additional training equal to one to two years of college, attainment of Associates degree or Journeyman ability in trades or crafts. More than three years, up to and including five years of full time related work experience. Must maintain all licenses and be able to proficiently operate equipment requiring a Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer\'s License 2B, 4E and 4G (Highway HEO) and a Class B Commercial Driver\'s License with airbrake and tanker endorsement. Must pass a Criminal Offender Records Inquiry and pre-employment physical including drug screen as a condition of employment.
