Overview

The SOSi team is growing in Europe, and we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Virtualization Administrator to join our team in Wiesbaden, Germany. As a Virtualization Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our organization's print and email infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to efficient document processing, effective communication, and ensuring the smooth operation of our print and email systems.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design, implement, and configure virtualization solutions such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or other leading virtualization platforms. You will work closely with the infrastructure team to ensure the virtualization environment meets business requirements.

  • Create, provision, and manage virtual machines (VMs) and virtual appliances. This includes monitoring VM performance, optimizing resource allocation, and troubleshooting issues that may arise.

  • Analyze resource utilization, identify bottlenecks, and recommend adjustments to ensure optimal performance and scalability of the virtual environment. This includes monitoring and tuning virtualization components such as CPU, memory, storage, and networking.

  • Implement and maintain high availability features such as clustering, fault tolerance, and load balancing across virtualization hosts and storage systems. You will also be responsible for developing and testing disaster recovery plans and performing regular backups.

  • Ensure virtualization systems are secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations. This includes managing user access controls, implementing security patches and updates, and conducting regular security audits.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for virtualization-related issues, working closely with the IT support team to resolve problems and minimize system downtime.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. You will also collaborate with other team members to share knowledge and promote best practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active in-scope DoD secret security clearance.

  • A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; An associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.

  • IAT Level II certification such as Security+ or equivalent is required at start date.

  • The ability to work in a high pace environment with a team to accomplish mission requirements.

  • Has proficient writing, oral communications, and presentations skills. An active in-scope secret clearance.

  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, digital certificates, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft servers. Must be approved by the USG and qualify as a Technical Expert under the U.S. SOFA in Germany.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Server+ certification.

  • ITIL Foundations 4.0.

  • VCP certification.

  • Proficient with workstation, application server, and database server interactions.

  • Familiarity working in an Army environment.

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desired but not required.

Work Environment

  • Typical office working environment in a building with multiple floors and stairs.

  • Occasional need to support after hours and weekend as required by mission requirements.

  • 8-hour shift between hours of operation, 40 hours per week.

  • Medium sized team including Engineers, Sr. and Jr. Sys Admins.
