Position Description:

The Receiving Clerk supports the production workflow through proper and accurate distribution of incoming raw materials and products.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the receiving functions and inspects all incoming materials/products for the purpose of verifying contents.
  • Physically counts all parts/materials.
  • Unloads and loads materials for the purpose of placing materials and products into inventory. Tasks may utilize a forklift, overhead crane, and other equipment necessary for material handling.
  • Maintain adequate records of items received for the purpose of recording inventory.
  • Matches purchase orders with packing slips, validates accuracy, prepares tags for labeling materials and ensures correct materials are received by using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers or other necessary gauges).
  • Submits receiving paperwork for incoming items to the purchasing department.
  • Counts items received and reports any discrepancies.
  • Receives purchase orders into the computer system
  • Undertakes other duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility of position.
