Summary:The Patient Intake Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to our patients and to each person who enters the clinic. The Patient Intake Representative ensures accurate and complete documentation of patient data in the patient management system, determines patient payment information/eligibility, and collects and reconciles patient payments, as well as assists in scheduling for the clinic.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
  • Tracks internal and external Release of Information (ROI) requests.
  • Optimizes patients\' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone, managing schedule in real time to optimize patient access and creating opportunities for patient engagement.
  • Screens and enrolls eligible patients into clinics special population programs.
  • Maintains patient accounts and records by obtaining, recording, documenting and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Assists patients with registration forms as needed, escalating patient concerns or complaints to leaders to address them, and provides excellent customer service.
  • Maintains confidentiality with respect to proprietary information, patient information and employees as patients information.
  • Provides suggestions for improvements to current processes and provides innovative and creative solutions to support organizational and departmental goals.
  • Exemplifies, supports, and promotes the organizations Standards of Culture as well as models and promotes direct conversations and peer accountability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
