Generator Production Associate

Salary depends on actual experience

Full Time position, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Applicants must have electrical and mechanical experience working with AC and DC circuitry, single and 3 phase, diesel and natural gas commercial generators, and experience in control wiring and installation.

We are looking for skilled generator production associates who will work on a variety of generator set types, including diesel and natural gas generator sets. This position requires proficiency in assembling and installing electrical distribution equipment, up to 480V AC/DC circuit wiring, control systems, diesel, and gas generators systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical principles, be proficient in reading schematics and technical drawings as well as familiarity with manufacturing shop equipment and common hand tools. Your expertise in electrical systems and mechanical components will ensure the operation and performance of the generators and provide an uninterrupted power supply for our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge of power generation systems.

Solid understanding of basic generator and electrical distribution principles.

Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, and power generation.

Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose all problems with power generation equipment, including problems with generator controls AC and DC and engine control systems.

Perform assembly and integration of AC and DC, wiring, power cables, connectors, control wiring and installation.

Remove and install parts, disassemble, and assemble components, clean, and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision.

Read, Interpret, and comprehend wiring schematics, connection diagrams, electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and work instructions to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the assembly.

Re-wire, adjust and install control panels, if required.

Makes accurate mathematical calculations and uses precision measuring instruments as required.

Collaborate with other team members to understand project requirements.

Must be able to determine the proper tools required to perform any given task.

Performs basic testing, assembly and/or disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multimeter, power supply, LCD meter, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, calipers, wiring tools, relays, sensors, crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, volt meters, drills, and grinders, etc.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Must be able to give regular and predictable full-time attendance.

Knowledge of electrical systems, generators, and associated components, including control panels, wiring, voltage regulators, and transfer switches.

Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend wiring schematics, connection diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.

Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision.

Good oral and written expression and comprehension.

Great problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

Work in multiple software systems, including time entry, data entry, and ERP systems.

Knowledge and use of various computer programs; MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.

Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy equipment.

Multitask and work under tight deadlines.

Honest, ethical and maintain confidentiality.

Other duties and re ponsibilities as assigned.

Education, Training, and Licensure Requirements:

High school diploma, or GED.

1 year of steady and relevant experience working as an electrical/mechanical assembler in a fast-paced production environment.

Electrical background preferred.

Diesel engine repair.

Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in the production environment.

Must successfully pass a background check.

Must successfully pass a drug test.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching above shoulders, use of equipment including repetitive motions, and frequently pinching and/or gripping.
