Worksite Location: NCAT Campus\ \ Overview / Job Summary:\ The FutureMaker Mobile Learning Lab is a school and community events service, as such, we are a public outreach and support arm of WSU Tech. The role of a FutureMaker Career Demonstrator is to support the FutureMaker Lab Program during community and school events and activities. To do this our team uses a digital content studio to film and produce videos and livestreams relating to high-demand careers. We also travel around the state of Kansas to do face-to-face programs in middle/high school and GED classes using virtual reality/augmented reality and other equipment to spark student interest. This position is responsible for enthusiastically engaging participants, and demonstrating technical careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) using hands-on equipment. Employee schedules are adapted on an event and college needs basis.\ \ Your day-to-dayresponsibilitieswill vary, but are not limited to:\

  • Assists students with the operation of devices to increase interest in technical careers (on-the-job training provided)
  • As part of the team, assist with the development of audio and video productions to increase awareness of technical careers and their education paths. (on-the job training provided)
  • Using on a regular basis audio/visual and virtual/augmented reality equipment in a variety of settings, both onsite at college/schools as well as industry partners as needed.
  • Supports development of new hands-on activities to demonstrate STEM and technical careers.
  • Curate, create, and schedule content the FutureMaker Labs social media channels.
  • Oversee the video editing process within the FutureMaker team.

As being part of the FutureMarker, you will support development of new hands-on activities to demonstrate STEM and technical careers. The candidate will engage diverse participant population with passion and enthusiasm. Traveling throughout Wichita will be required.\ \ Education:

  • High school graduaterequired; some collegepreferred.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Previous exposure to and baseline understanding of technical fields, including aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, or other natural sciences, construction sciences or automotive & veterinarian technician.
  • Desire and ability to learn how to operate new software and hardware.
  • User level understanding of computers and devices running Windows/iOS/Android.
  • Effective, age-appropriate communication and desire to enlighten students in a public/group forum.
  • Engages diverse participant population with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
  • Ability to travel within the Wichita and Kansas region as job requires, with occasional overnight stays.
