As a facility service assistant technician, youll embody this approach while performing tasks involved with service work orders, preventative maintenance, small remodels/upgrades, and repair of warranty items.

Position Description

Service work including wall framing, drywall, painting, cabinet/millwork installation, flooring, door and hardware installation/repair, caulking and sealants, etc.

Repair, replace or coordinate such repairs or replacement on miscellaneous warranty and service work items. Read blueprints, submittals, sketches, estimates or plans and be able to execute the necessary tasks to complete the job.

Layout accurately, using a framing square, plumb bob, level and/or lasers.

Safely operate power tools associated with carpentry or other miscellaneous tasks.

Investigate water infiltration issues in order to repair and/or make recommendations to the Facilities Services Manager.

Direct and/or assist craft team members as needed. Complete any other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Position Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Repairs and Maintenance:
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair issues.
  • Fix broken fixtures, doors, windows, and other building components.
  • Remodeling Projects:
  • Collaborate with project managers and lead technicians on the completion of commercial remodels and interior finish upgrades.
  • Assist with demolition, framing, drywall installation, and sheetrock finishing work.
  • Install cabinets, doors, door hardware, restroom accessories, partitions, wood trim, and other finish carpentry components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Interior Finish Upgrades:
  • Paint walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
  • Install or repair flooring, tiles, and carpets.
  • Handle rough and finish carpentry tasks.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Travel:
  • Be willing to travel regionally to different project sites.Travel is typically limited to 3-4 nights per week.
  • Adapt to varying work environments and building types.
  • Teamwork:
  • Work closely with our team of assistant techs, specialty techs, and licensed technicians.
  • Communicate effectively and follow instructions.
  • Safety and Documentation:
  • Prioritize safety protocols and use protective gear.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training is a plus.
  • 3+ years in commercial construction, or residential remodeling
  • Proven experience in maintenance, repairs, or remodeling.

Work Environment:

You will work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
