JOB SUMMARY:

Work in a team environment to research and manage workflow within experimental functional areas.Ensure parts are moving (WIP) and completed ahead of the build need date for various developmental programs and test articles. Be the focal for responsible shortage meetings and provide reports for leadership for the purpose of updates on programs to SLT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work in concert with shop build teams to ensure parts are completed and delivered to POU ahead of schedule.

  • Establish and manage priorities on experimental production orders based on tool/schedule need dates.

  • Work with experimental manufacturing to ensure priorities are aligned with capacity and adjust as needed.

  • Maintain tool shortage reports and reconcile all shortages accordingly.

  • Work close with experimental functional areas such as SCM, engineering, program management, and flight test, to identify design changes, late parts, or other issues.Take appropriate action to reconcile and limit risk to the build.

  • Attend meetings as requested to coordinate risk items.

  • Communicate with parts priority group to get ECD’s on critical parts.

  • Work with build teams to communicate risk and potential contingency plans.

  • Work with planning team to communicate scrap parts, changes in planning needed, reorders.

  • Analyzes material and part shortage lists to determine impact on schedules and capacity of assigned area.

  • Work with SC for alternate materials when needed and due dates for raw material and outsourced processing

  • Work with Exp coordinator to establish priority in production arena to make sure parts are being worked

  • Run SAP shopping cart to issue pick lists to crib when shop is ready for parts to be pulled and delivered to POU.Perform all necessary SAP transactions to keep SAP record keeping accurate.

  • Provide status reports for leadership to share in senior level program updates.

  • Focal for status meetings to keep build team and leadership updated on shortages.

  • Attend daily meetings with project personnel for updates/issues on Exp programs.

  • Coordinate with management to establish schedules and priorities between in work programs.

  • Coordinate resolution with engineering and the floor for the following to mitigate risk:

  • Squawks, Material/Part Alternates

  • Maintain SAP stockroom data to insure it is clean for accuracy.

  • Maintain SAP for Exp dept to clean up aging orders or those that need closed.

  • Exp Go Team

  • Coordinate billable work within the domestic service centers for Exp

  • Set up flights, room and rental cars.

  • Coordinate the delivery of required tools and equipment.

  • Order and track STO’s from production.

  • Coordinate with planning when planning changes or new orders are required.

  • Coordinate with production on OTO’s and special mission work.

  • Ensure requests have been vetted through the proper groups.

  • Use own discretion for routing and assist other areas of the business with order of operations when needed

  • Assist with the breakdown of engineering and planning information on select parts to best determine what point in time build work needs to start

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Business, or related field required and minimum of 2 years relevant experience

  • In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years diversified experience in Manufacturing Procurement, Manufacturing Engineer, and/or an Experimental Scheduling/Planner background required.

  • Relative experience in a technical field is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel in generating reports and data manipulation

  • High-level knowledge of parts flow and lead time estimations based on order operations

  • Familiarity with overall Experimental operations, crib functions, material and processing (planning) parts, build sequence, WIP tracking, STO’s, PR’s, and MRP

  • Knowledge of aircraft build sequence

  • Presentation experience, strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to effectively communicate with management required

  • Demonstrate excellent demeanor, a strong sense of urgency, possess good multitasking and time management skills

  • Understanding of continuous improvement is a plus
