Summary

Installs and repairs electrical systems apparatus, and electrical and electronic

components of industrial machinery and equipment, in accordance with all local and

National electrical codes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment

such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.

2. Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects

cables and wires between machines and equipment.

3. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting

fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

4. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers,

such as Maintenance Millwright, Factory Specialist, Tool and Die Maker, and departmental supervision to diagnose malfunction.

5. Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, circuit boards,

switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.

6. May diagnoses and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

7. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires power to motors.

8. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

9. Diagnoses and replaces faulty electrical/mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
