Spirit AeroSystems Defense Program Control Analyst in Wichita, Kansas

Overview

Responsibilities

Provides business leadership support to the Program Management Office and Program Manager or major business/program element where business needs dictate. Reporting, visibility and communication of strategic and operational program activities necessary to achieve defined program objectives and business plans.

Location: Wichita, Kansas

The Program Control analyst provides Program Management support, and the tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis of labor and material for current and future.

  • Work closely with various functional organizations during the EAC development process; as well as monitoring these organizations performance against agreed upon budgets.

  • Providing support of month-end close financial planning activities.

  • Contractual and internal Earned Value Management reporting, including generation and analysis of monthly program metrics.

  • Risk and opportunity valuation and impact on contract profitability.

  • Processing budget change requests.

  • Ad-hoc requests

    Earned Value Management:

  • Implement Program Management Standards across the program.

  • Maintain the Program Management Plan (PMP)

  • Establish and maintain the Performance Measurement Baseline

  • Develop and maintain program performance reporting for internal and external requirements.

  • Develop and maintain the Organization Breakdown Structure (OBS)

  • Develop and maintain program-level staffing and training plans.

  • Develop and maintain the Contract Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS), CWBS Dictionary/Index

    Program Master Scheduling Tasks:

  • Develop and maintain the Tier 0 - Tier III level schedules.

  • Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule

  • Develop scheduling metrics and performance analysis and reporting.

    Program Finance / Financial Planning

  • Develop and maintain Monthly Program contractual financial reporting.

  • Develop Estimate At Completion (EAC) and Long Range Business Plan (LRBP) reporting data

  • Develop, implement, analyze, maintain and present strategic, business & financial plans to support business units.

  • Utilize Historical & Forecast data to perform analysis trends

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically, candidates will have a bachelor's degree and 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced Degree in a related field and 3 years' finance experience. Preferred degrees in Business, Accounting, Finance, Math or related field.

  • Strong experience with Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas).

  • Experience using other Microsoft Office tools (including Word and PowerPoint).

  • Experience in contractual EVMS reporting, working in Deltek software suite (COBRA, PM Compass, etc.)

  • Understanding of SAP or similar ERP system.

  • Must be able to obtain a clearance to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.

    How a Program Analyst Will Make an Impact:

  • Performs a variety of complex administrative and analytical tasks in support of the Program Management Office.

  • Develops plans, including budgets and schedules, and monitors tasks to meet contractual/project requirements for assigned program.

  • Support the PMO to successfully manage the cost, schedule, and performance of the contract to include but not limited to: Budget Analysis, Monthly Burns, cost estimations, monthly invoices.

  • Monitor and report performance against plans to ensure that performance, cost, and schedule objectives are met (ensuring billing, invoicing and financial aspects are aligned with contract's cost structure).

  • Review financial statements with the PMO to successfully recommend financial data, metrics, burn analysis, and cost projections such as but not limited to ODCs, Labor, and Travel.

  • Participates in special projects as required.
