Spirit AeroSystems Defense - Operations Support Specialist in Wichita, Kansas

Overview

Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide information and analysis with solutions to drive Operational Excellence

  • Lead projects to improve effectiveness of the shop performance utilizing continuous improvement tools

  • Facilitate collaboration of cross-functional units to decide and deploy the best strategies

  • Provide innovative and standardized operational controls

  • Develop premier customer service by integrating skills with needs

  • Support and maintain factory health metrics

  • Support and execute Lean Strategies

  • Support corporate strategies on Capital Planning, Rate Readiness and Work Measurement and Movement

  • Support IPT

  • Support 3rd Party Work with cost estimation standards, capacity analysis and production planning

  • Support daily shop support on cost, schedule, quality and safety

  • Operations Support Specialist is responsible for producing the following deliverables:

  • Create and Submit PPARs

  • Create 4-squares for quality and process improvements

  • Shop support for one off shop supplies

  • Support Capital Forecasts

  • Shop Floor Health Metrics

  • Capital Equipment Analysis

  • Core Processes and Standardization - policies and procedures

  • Factory Optimization

  • Communication Rate Readiness and Capital Plans

  • Quality Metrics (ie SQAR)

  • Equipment Qualifications

  • Demand Based Metrics (Planned VS Actual)

  • Create/Close Reallocations

  • Perform improvement analysis

  • Lead rate studies

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Major Suppliers & External/Internal Customers including but not limited to the following:

  • Customers Program Office - Contracts, PCCB, Program Scheduler

  • Business Unit Leaders - Directives / Factory Health Factory Management

  • Shop Support - Daily Factory Schedules and Operational Performance

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related manufacturing experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related manufacturing experience

  • Advanced educational degree

  • Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Administrative background

  • Experience with Build Plans
