Essential Role:Responsible for assisting eligible low-income families for the Healthy Kids Grant Project. For families already enrolled in Kancare, responsible to assist families in maintaining coverage. Responsible for traveling to outreach locations in order to meet with families in-person on a routine basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in strong outreach activities reaching out into the 29 county service area.
  2. Educate families about the availability of free or low-cost health coverage under Medicaid and CHIP.
  3. Identify children and families likely to be eligible for these programs and assisting families, including parents to apply for coverage.
  4. Provide support for renewal/retention of health coverage benefits.
  5. Facilitate connections with appropriate local resources in order to assist the children/families with enrollment in appropriate health insurance option or provide assistance to families with online self-enrollment options as needed.
  6. Accomplishes additional tasks as appropriate.
