ASM Global Catering Server - Century II in Wichita, Kansas

Summary:

This position provides a formal catering experience. Server works all banquet functions to include set-up, any beverage break, buffet, plated and reception events, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation and set-up of event room including, but not limited to, the collection of all banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event.

  • Prepares garnishes, beverages, condiments, and bread baskets.

  • Clean and fill salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers.

  • Prepare tables with place settings as instructed.

  • Breakdown banquet equipment and set-up after each event and then clean and return serving pieces to proper storage area.

  • Compliant with all health and safety codes.

  • Interact with guests and team members in a pleasant and professional manner.

  • Catering responsibilities, as required, include preparation and breakdown of event, set-up, distribution of food, maintain guest contact, refill beverages, pick-up utensils, and dinnerware.

  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.

  • Position requires the ability to work at all local ASM Global facilities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties:

  • Reports to Food & Beverage Manager in appropriate uniform, for assigned location.

  • Follows all rules and regulations which apply to the Savor and ASM Global.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of food and beverage service

  • Six to twelve months prior server experience.

  • Ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.

  • Positive attitude and neat appearance.

  • Must speak and understand English.

  • Attend all ASM Global Alcohol and Policy Training Classes.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Prior experience in the food and beverage service industry preferred.

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A good attitude and a smiling face required.

  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Ability to work with co-workers, volunteers, and all levels of staff.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have good hygiene and a neat, conservative appearance.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision

  • Exemplary food and beverage service skills in a fine dining atmosphere.

  • A strong commitment to exemplary customer service.

  • Must be able to pass background/credit check with acceptable results.

Other Qualifications:

Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Eligible to work in United States.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

  • Regular lifting and carrying minimum of 20 lbs.

  • Constant standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and handling food and chemical products.

  • Ability to work extended hours productively in a fast-paced, very physically demanding environment.

  • Ability to navigate in and out of banquet doors and service pockets throughout shift.

  • Potential exposure to dust pollen and fumes, and food allergens, and extreme changes in heat and cold.

  • Subject to high noise level.

  • Possible exposure to weather conditions.
