The Business Systems Analyst III (BSA) is responsible for gathering, understanding, and documenting business processes and their related system implementations to identifying areas of opportunity to create or improve capabilities and drive efficiencies across the portfolio throughout the lifecycle of our projects. In addition to providing input and oversight of technical tasks during the execution phase of the project, the Business Systems Analyst III (BSA) will be responsible for gathering and documenting customer requirements by interviewing and understanding customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial and program cost & scheduling information systems as well as IT practices and terminology to help identify appropriate solution options based on business requirements. The candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a capable technologist with strong communication skills, specifically seeking an environment where they will impact the direction of the organization and be a key contributor to overall success of the business. The pace is exceptionally fast at SNC, and our dynamic environment will see many new projects in the coming year. The Business Systems Analyst III (BSA) will need to be agile and flexible, as changes will be certain and frequent.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for elicitation and cultivation of business needs to translate into detailed requirements documentation to include but not limited to validating completeness and accuracy, managing traceability to downstream artifacts such as user stories, architecture artifacts, and/or project implementation plans to support deliverable deadlines.

  • Document and model business application data to ensure accuracy, quality, and completeness to help identify opportunities for ETL enhancements while supporting long-term integration strategies.

  • Partner with program managers to coordinate and provide input for specific gate entrance and exit criteria throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Interface with business and functional areas to identify project deliverables in alignment with project scope, coordinate resources, and oversee the development lifecycle across all project phases.

  • Support the development and documentation of system test plans to ensure alignment with project objectives, contribute to training documentation buildout, and end user acceptance signoff.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in a related field with at least 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Previous experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Applications Analyst or similar position is required.

  • Must be knowledgeable on the technologies that support day-to-day business execution in addition to business application development, implementation, and sustainment

  • Must be familiar with the Project Management body of knowledge and agile project delivery methodology

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of needs and requirements documentation process. Familiarity with Jira and/or Azure DevOps a plus.

  • Experience with data modeling and documentation of system integration metadata nd technologies necessary for implementation

  • Basic experience with writing SQL and understanding the basics of table querying for use in documenting data requirements

  • Strong knowledge of project planning/execution and solid understanding of analysis and software development lifecycle methodologies

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills
