Job Purpose:

The HVAC Service Technician Manager will lead a team of HVAC service technicians who work with heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and equipment. The HVAC Service Technician Manager is responsible for meeting goals and maintaining customer satisfaction for the company. This may include developing budgets, setting company goals, interviewing prospective employees and meeting with other company managers to discuss corporate strategies. Duties may also require scheduling appointments, dispatching, and performing service calls as necessary. The Service Manager should have an adequate mechanical and installation understanding of the tools and equipment used by his staff. This team member must also have a strong managerial understanding and ability. This position will also deal directly with customers, requiring good customer service and communication skills and may also require the ability to sale and estimate some projects.

Job Duties

  • Collaboration in management meetings to report progress, discuss goal setting and idea exchange to improve the productivity of field staff.
  • Participation in field service personnel annual reviews.
  • Participation in the hiring process of field service personnel annual reviews.
  • Identifying training needs and scheduling
  • Optimizing field staff efficiency by monitoring the following: timeliness, breaks, call completion times, parts acquisitions and assisting in corrective measures.
  • Collaboration in field staff meetings identifying specific needs and the promotion of company ideas and objectives.
  • Goal setting for call collection, service agreement sales and data collection.
  • Discussion of challenges with employees, customers and work flow.
  • Forecasting workloads; reducing non-productive time.
  • Handling customer concerns (within your ability) and compliments.
  • Promotion of the service agreement program.
  • Scheduling demands; assignment of calls based on technical ability.
  • Review revenue numbers and goals with field staff
  • Review call backs and assign appropriate training for individual field staff member
  • Develop and initiate training for field staff

Working Conditions

  • Normal workweeks are 5 Days: Monday thru Friday.
  • Normal start time is 7:55AM, end time is 5:00PM.
