Vernon College EMS Program Skills Lab Instructor in Wichita Falls, Texas

Description of Duties:Skills lab instructors are responsible for assisting in the education of entry-level EMTs, AEMT and Paramedic students. Skills include advanced airway placement, IV start, and drug administration. Subcutaneous and intra muscular injections. Spinal mobile restriction, hemorrhage control, and shock management. Simple airway adjuncts and airway techniques.

Travel Required:No

Experience and Training:Applicant must hold current and valid certification with the Texas Department of State Health Services for emergency medical services or currently Licensed as a Registered Nurse with emergency or Critical care experience. Registered Respiratory Therapists are also considered for certain course materials.

Education:Required initial education for their current certification level. All applicants must hold a current and valid certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:EMT and AEMT applicants will be required to hold a current AHA BLS card Paramedic, RN applicants will be required to hold a current AHA BLS and ACLS card.

Preferred Qualifications:Understanding of adult learning theories.

Salary:$24 per hour. This position does not receive benefits.
