AristaCare Handyman / Special Projects in Whiting, New Jersey

AristaCare at Whiting is looking for an experienced Handyman / Special Projects assistant to join its Maintenance department.

The primary purpose of this job is to provide services in building and repairing infrastructure and equipment used by the nursing home facility.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform electrical repairs in community areas, including lights and laundry.

  • Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and fixed as necessary.

  • Complete general building cleaning and maintenance.

  • Install and replace floors, stairs and piping as needed.

  • Repair and paint doors, windows, walls, ceilings, roofs and other parts of the building.

  • Maintain trash and recycling receptacles around the facility.

  • Maintain and repair air conditioning and heating systems as required

Shift: 8am to 430p (Monday to Friday)

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Knowledge of safety regulations

  • Must be able to follow directions and be detail oriented

  • Experience in a nursing home or long term care facility a plus

  • Must have computer skills

  • Must have customer service skills
