Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Distributed Training Event Coordinator/B-2 Classroom and Simulator Instructor to join our Aircrew Training Team at Whiteman AFB, MO. The qualified applicant will become an integral part of the 13th Bomb Squadron's B-2 Formal Training Unit, providing systems and tactics instruction in a classroom environment, on cockpit procedure trainers, and in the B-2 simulator. Additionally, this individual coordinates with the operational B-2 squadrons on continuation training needs to develop and execute simulator mission profiles designed to prepare our crews for future combat operations. This also involves partnering with other organizations using Distributed Mission Operations to connect the B-2 simulator to virtual battlespaces to practice joint force operations.
Job Duties
Coordinate with operational B-2 squadrons and develop realistic combat training mission profiles, using current events, in shaping how crews prepare for future conflicts
Request/coordinate support from the Distributed Training Operations Center and Distributed Training Center for Distributed Mission Operations events and training exercises
Brief B-2 aircrew on simulator mission profiles and manage the execution from the simulator instructor console
Capture crew performance for use in simulator mission debrief.
Provide top-notch classroom and training device pilot instruction supporting B-2 initial qualification (IQT), requalification (RQT), basic qualification (BQT), Aircraft Commander (ACUG) and Flight Instructor (FIC) Courses
Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in B-2 aircraft systems and tactics.
Develop, review, revise, and evaluate courseware and training materials for classroom and Cockpit Procedure Trainer lessons
Perform administrative activities, to include but not limited to scheduling and recording training
Basic Qualifications
Must have a Bachelors degree with 10 years of military flight experience
Military instructor pilot, instructor navigator, instructor weapons system officer, or instructor electronic warfare officer in fixed wing aircraft
Skilled in Microsoft Office software suite
Possess a working knowledge of AFMAN 11-202V3, AFI 11-2X-XX V1-3, AFTTP 3-3 and 3-1 from qualification in a military aircraft
Experience operating a simulator instructor station and facilitating simulator training missions is required
Experience in military flying course syllabi and courseware is required
Experience mission planning in CFPS, Falconview, or JMPS
Must be a US Citizen and must have a DOD Secret clearance at a minimum to interview, with eligibility to obtain a DOD Top Secret clearance with access to special access programs upon hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
Former B-2 flightline or Formal Training Unit instructor pilot with experience executing syllabus training events
Masters degree from an accredited university
Possess an active Top Secret DOD clearance
2000 hours or greater total flying time
Experience in planning bomber missions in JMPS
Oceanic flight experience
Formal Training Unit Instructor Pilot experience.
Graduate of the Advanced Instrument School
Salary Range: $122,700 - $184,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
