Cerelia Bakery Canada LP 2nd Shift Logistics Lead in whitehall, Ohio

Cerelia USA has just opened the doors to our new state-of the-art production plant in Whitehall, Ohio and we are hiring! The new facility is dedicated to the retail product portfolio with a specialization in rolled dough (pizza, pie, pastry) and cookie dough.

Our Cerelia Whitehall plant may be brand new but the history of Cerelia goes back to 1974. As the years have passed, the company has grown from a France based production company to an international leader in the chilled dough products market.

Position Summary 

Detailed oriented individual with ability to operate warehouse equipment in a food manufacturing warehouse.  Warehouse activities to include receiving, handling, stock keeping, picking, and loading within the warehouse, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsible for safety, process efficiency, quality assurance within the warehouse, and meeting customer expectations.  

Primary Responsibilities 

Warehouse Logistic Functions 

  • Operate forklift and pallet jacks as needed. 

  • Operate stretch wrap machines. 

  • Familiarity with modern warehouse practices and methods including operating scanners or handheld devices used to move and track items. 

  • Prepare and complete orders for shipping according to the schedule.   

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.   

  • Computer-based order picking in cooler or freezer environment. 

  • Maintain accurate records of products that have been stocked and shipped. 

  • Check in and sign out drivers in log. 

  • Inventory cycle-counting 

  • Check in raw materials, packaging supplies, and other deliveries according to procedures. 

  • Label all incoming materials according to procedures. 

  • Stock production lines with needed materials. 

  • Keep warehouse areas interior and exterior clean and organized.  Daily cleaning will be required. 

  • Flexibility to work off-shifts, including days or nights, weekends, or holidays. 

Quality Assurance 

  • Ensure compliance with quality policies and procedures, including product hold and traceability.   

  • Report any discrepancies with product or code dates. 

  • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements. 

Health and Safety 

  • Ensure the use safe work practices and that safe working conditions exist. 

  • Conduct daily equipment checks as required. 

  • Report any damage or equipment issue to Supervisor. 

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations. 

  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security. 

  • Operate all forklifts according to OSHA standard and company policies and SOPs. 

  • Must be able to work in coolers and freezers for extended periods.  PPE will be provided. 

  • Follow company safety policies and practices fostering a safe workplace and environment for ourselves and our co-workers. 

Requirements 

Education and/ or Experience: 

  • Good communication skills 

  • High School diploma 

  • Basic math skills 

  • Forklift experience preferred. 

  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
