The Sr. Mission Quality Assurance Specialist will provide in-depth knowledge of Quality Management System requirements to support Program Mission efforts at WSMR for Proprietary Programs. They will work closely with the external customer and industrial partners. They will work closely with the program managers, site leaders, DoD, external, internal customers, and industrial partners. They will help develop and monitor quality metrics, develop objective evidence to support customer deliverables through missions and support equipment sell-offs and required flow downs.

This is an onsite role.

What You Will Do

  • Develop partnerships with senior site leaders, program product managers, and engineering functions to define steps necessary to implement Quality strategies for a successful mission with the DoD or friendly countries.

  • Perform process walks and use metrics to drive quality improvements across our missile bays, incoming, process, shipment Inspection activities, calibration management activities, chemicals receivals, explosives, paint and touch up, and DoD missions and sell-offs.

  • Works in hazardous environments exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.

  • Review engineering drawings and support Engineering Review Board (ERB) / Configuration Change Board (CCB) as the quality representative.

  • Responsible for the site CM, CCB and work instructions editing and uploading.

  • Quality Lead during Compliance, Corporative and NQA Audits. Perform root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls along with continuous improvement methods.

  • Review contract deliverables and coordinate with program personnel and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) for DD250 sell-off / customer acceptance.

  • Assure product quality and effectiveness throughout all life-cycle phases.

  • Collaborate closely with quality, operations, supply chain, and engineering personnel.

  • Ensure completion of required documentation, identification of nonconformance and noncompliance, resolution, and closure of open issues, and ensures quality and configuration of program assets.

  • Flex work across quality disciplines and provides surge capability to programs during key events.

  • Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements verification.

  • Review risk and opportunity data to lead projects to eliminate or reduce risks and/or realize opportunities.

  • Work long hours and/or weekends, when required, to meet program and mission’s objectives.

  • Work in a field environment.

  • Travel to and work in remote sites (domestic and international) to support program requirements.

    Qualification You Must Have

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent and eight (8) years of engineering experience.

  • Working experience in root cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions.

  • Working experience using metrics to drive action and achieve results.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience participating in a Patriot, or SPY-6, or LTAMDS or TPY-2, or THADD DoD Mission as Quality Engineer.

  • Incoming, process, shipping Quality Inspection and Calibration management and reporting systems.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience with DCMA Sell-Offs and corresponding FAI and check lists.

  • Certification in Six Sigma, CORE, or American Society for Quality (ASQ).

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
