In partnership with the External Wholesaler, the Internal Wholesaler is responsible for developing and maintaining existing relationships with agents and field managers within their territory. Internal Wholesalers must be adept at identifying and acquiring new business within their territory to meet sales goals for New York Life. These sales goals would involve one of the following: Life Insurance, Investments & Annuities, Long Term Care & Individual Disability Income, or Business Solutions. In this role, The Internal will make proactive phone calls to agents in their territories to share sales ideas, provide product information, gather marketing data and offer sales support as well as identify new sales opportunities. The Internal Wholesaler is also responsible for providing case design support and product knowledge via the Sales Desk channels.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Make proactive sales calls on a daily basis with existing representatives to strengthen relationships and find selling opportunities.

• Fielding of inbound calls from agents in regard to New York Life solutions and identifying selling opportunities.

• Work closely with the External Consultants to develop and execute an appropriate business plan to maximize territorial sales.

• Become a specialist in one of the New York Life Solution areas including:

  • Life Insurance

  • Annuities & Investments

  • Long Term Care & Individual Disability Income

  • Business Solutions/EWL

• Identify and convert dormant agents into producing representatives.

• Assist in training of new associate.

• All other duties, as required by management team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

• At least two Executive Councils achieved (New York Life Agents only).

• Prior insurance industry sales experience a plus.

• Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

• Posses excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Must have strong relationship building skills & sense of time management.

• Must be a detail-oriented and well-organized self-starter with high energy and creativity.

• Must be able to obtain licenses (6 & 63) within 60 days (Series 7 a plus but not required).

• Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as various internet search techniques.

• Proven ability to pay attention to detail and multitask.
