MetLife AI Model Risk Analyst in Whippany, New Jersey

Role Value Proposition:

Global Risk Management (GRM) oversees MetLife’s financial and non-financial risks to support responsible growth and ensure we deliver on our promises to customers and stakeholders. GRM accomplishes this through proactive advice, independent and effective challenge, and through implementation and enforcement of guardrails. This position sits within Model Risk, GRM Data & Analytics.

This position will be responsible for developing AI solutions for Global Risk Management. These AI solutions cover areas such as investment, insurance products, actuarial and customer protection.

The candidate will have demonstrated very strong quantitative and communication skills allowing them to create innovative AI solutions to solve business problems and clearly communicate the approaches and impact to business owners. The successful candidate will be motivated to adopt new technologies and be able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment. The position will require collaboration with key global stakeholders across the Enterprise.

The candidate will gain a broad exposure to a wide range of modeling techniques, product lines, functions, and businesses across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI solutions to solve business problems across Global Risk Management, such as NLP to analyze latest news, predictive model to forecast market trends, etc.

  • Develop advanced analytics and visualization to help understand AI outputs, and highlight useful insights for business users.

  • Identify alternative mathematical approaches and implementations to benchmark existing AI models to enhance their performance and efficiency.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Graduate degree in a quantitative field (e.g., advanced mathematics, statistics, physics, or computer science) or/and ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries)/FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries).

  • Very strong mathematical background and experience in programing languages such as Python and C#.

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with members of other departments and lines of business.

  • 3+ years of experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data analytics and machine learning packages in Python.
