Title: Retail Associate (Faith-Based Nonprofit) Location: [Wheeling, WV]

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our faith-based nonprofit organization as a retail associate. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to our faith-based values and be willing to engage in physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the transportation and distribution of goods and supplies to underserved communities, including loading and unloading trucks or vans.
  2. Provide assistance to individuals in need, offering a helping hand and compassionate support.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all facilities and equipment.
  4. Uphold the values and principles of our faith-based organization in all interactions and activities.
  5. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to position.
  6. Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members to foster positive relationships and promote collaboration.
  7. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when engaging in physically demanding tasks, prioritizing the well-being of oneself and others.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by the organizational leadership.

Qualifications:

Strong alignment with the mission and values of our faith-based nonprofit organization. Ability to engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects (including very heavy furniture items). Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach to serving others. Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to the role. Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and a positive attitude. Previous experience in retail, non-profit, or a related field is preferred but not required. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
