Finance Analyst

Reporting to the Senior Manager FP&A, you will drive initiatives to improve the accuracy, availability, granularity and coverage of our data; you will build analytical tools to generate insight, recognise patterns and predict behaviour and you will support the commercial business as local data expert in meeting or exceeding its objectives

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the UK, Ireland and Nordic (UKINOR) FP&A team in the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts

  • Provide detailed monthly variance analysis.

  • Work closely with the General Accounting team at month-end to ensure the accuracy of accruals.

  • Assist budget holders with regular reporting on spend vs budget.

  • Track daily sales and open orders vs forecast, highlighting any opportunities or risks as they arise.

  • Work alongside our Salesforce Administrator and Business Intelligence teams to advance reporting.

  • Track performance of Dentsply Sirona customer agreements, including the calculation of performance based rebates.

  • Ensure accurate calculation of sales rep targets, sales incentive payments and associated accruals.

  • Support the Senior Finance business Partner in assessing the effectiveness of promotions.

  • Become conversant in all UK&I business systems and reporting tools.

  • Ensure the integrity of sales data, regularly checking source data for accuracy.

  • Participate in and support projects across the division and provide ad-hoc reporting as and when required

Requirements:

  • Financial or Business related degree

  • Part/Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)

  • An enquiring mind with excellent analytical, numerical and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to prioritise and proactively manage your own workload to deadlines

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI - Desirable – Experience in Anaplan

  • Some experience within a financial environment,

  • Previous experience of process improvement, analysis, reporting and data reconciliation.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy when manipulating large volumes of data

  • Negotiation and influencing skills

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • Good organisational abilities; able to prioritise tasks

  • Interpersonal and diplomatic

  • Able to present and convey problems/issues by applying technical knowledge and learnings to group/team

  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight timelines

  • Flexible approach to work, to meet peaks in workloads at month-end, annual budget preparation
