All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in Box 3 & 4, Page 1. Workers will perform a combination of tasks involved in the planting, cultivating and harvesting of diversified ground crops, according to the instructions of the supervisor. Workers must have knowledge and ability to operate and repair farm machinery. Workers will operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer\'s fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as-needed basis. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid drivers license, no worker will be rejected for not having a driver\'s license. Workers will work in a storage building washing, culling, and prepping produce for storage or distribution. Workers will plant in greenhouses, as well as plant and transplant crops in fields. Workers will perform field work of hand weeding, thinning, and hoeing, as well as other duties related to planting, maintaining and harvesting crops. Workers are required to stand, bend and kneel for long periods of time in all weather. Workers must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather ranging from extremely cold in the spring and fall to hot and humid in the summer. Workers will harvest the crops according to the quality and method of the employer. The employer will provide 1 day of training and allow 2 days of work for the workers to satisfactorily perform duties described in this job description. Workers may require to work 10 hours shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Saturday. Workers will be given 30 minutes for lunch and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Workers may require to work on Sunday. Beginning and ending times each day, as well as the number of hours per day will vary depending on the weather and the conditions of the crops. Workers must be able to take direction in simple English.
