OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for an experienced Quality Engineer for the Westminster CO plant. The position ensures the quality standards of the company are met in the products produced for customers. Responsible for ensuring that processes and operations are completed to meet customer specification of quality, and efficiency. Checks performance efficiency of machines, quality control of products, quality of staff and customer service. Monitors production and machinery to ensure quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitates and assists with managing moderate scope quality engineering projects, which includes influencing objectives, timelines, work schedules, and leading communications within the plant. Assists with the design of large projects.

  • Participates as a member of the CAPA Corrective Action System team member for the Business Unit; Leads Corrective Action Teams for both Internal and Externally required CAPAs.

  • Assists with communicating broad quality engineering and related manufacturing principles and practices.

  • Review corrective action requests, inspection and audit results, failure reports, customer documentation, and other areas as required.

  • Interprets results of inspections, audits, and reports and implements solutions.

  • Leads assigned teams in investigations, inspection programs, advanced testing, and related areas.

  • Develops and reviews reports, documents, and tests, and adjusts operations or activities as needed.

  • Responds to a variety of broad questions and concerns from customers, suppliers, and management regarding quality programs, test results, interpretation of findings, corrective actions, and other areas.

  • Develops and delivers presentations and training as required for demonstrated internal and external customers.

  • Interprets and applies department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; ensures compliance with these areas.

  • Serves as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction.

  • Rejects products not meeting specifications and hold further processing or shipment until non-conformances are resolved.

  • Authorizes disposition of non-conforming products.

  • Approves products for manufacturing and shipment.

  • Interprets tolerances, drawings specifications, quality standards and procedures, or other part acceptance criteria.

  • Communicates directly with suppliers, customers, and internal departments on Quality matters.

  • Works directly with NPI Team and customers to provide feedback on customer prints, develop part inspection plans, identify CTQ features and cosmetic requirements.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, andthree to five years related experience in a Quality Engineering role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • NPI experience.

  • Customer Communication experience.

  • Must possess demonstrated ability to use statistical tools and/or software, performance measuring system analysis and methods.

  • Must possess demonstrated ability to apply quality engineering principles and practices and have experience in leading teams using Problem Solving Methodologies such as 8d.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Plastic Injection

  • LEAN Six Sigma

  • Green Belt or Certified Quality Engineer Certification through ASQ

  • ISO 9001:2015 Auditing

  • CMM programming with PCDMIS-CAD++

  • OGP SmartScope with Zone3 preferred
