Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Plastic Injection Molding Set-Up Technician. Setup Technicians have the responsibility of getting injection molding machines set up and ready for production. This includes but is not limited to pulling and setting molds, cycling the machine into a pre-established process, turning in start-up parts, troubleshooting machine alarms, and performing basic mold and machine maintenance. These duties will require the use of overhead cranes, forklifts and basic hand tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot visual and dimensional defects

  • Train lower-level technicians to help them gain knowledge to help develop their careers

  • Troubleshoot automation issues and program new automation

  • Assist on special projects

  • Acts as a leader on the floor working with the Leads, Quality, Process Engineering and operators to ensure the proper priorities are being worked on

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance hardware performance, reliability, repeatability, and efficiency

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards in all set-up and maintenance activities

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and inventory control of hardware components and tools

  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment

  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Injection molding experience or mechanical aptitude, tools and toolbox

  • Must demonstrate a high aptitude and ability for supervision

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-function teams

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Technical certifications or vocational training in injection molding is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
