Charles Schwab Compliance Director, Fair Lending Analytics in Westlake, Texas

In Compliance, we help our business partners achieve their strategic priorities by promoting principles and practices that build client trust and safeguard the integrity of the firm. Banking Compliance serves as a second line of defense oversight function for the banking and trust entities within Schwab (BTS). The Director will challenge and evolve the Compliance Program to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.

The Director of Fair Lending Analytics will develop and execute analyses to monitor and assess fair lending and UDAAP risks and will serve as a second line of defense subject matter expert providing regulatory oversight and advice with respect to policies, procedures, and controls and analysis and assessment of risk levels necessary to achieve compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. While this role is not a people manager, the Director will lead and coordinate efforts of other team members to ensure completion of monitoring activities. This role will partner with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Compliance to provide feedback from a One Voice perspective. The role will report to the Managing Director of Fair Lending Compliance.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in fair lending analysis techniques and software

  • Strong knowledge of fair lending and UDAAP/UDAP requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in retail lending for a bank or other retail lender, with a minimum of 5 years in Compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • CRCM or similar certification is a plus.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a strong analytical, data-driven work style.

  • Possesses a keen attention to detail, but also the ability to see the big picture.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to drive consensus across cross-functional teams and influence decision making

  • Proven track record of building strong partnerships and influencing across organizational boundaries

  • Proactive approach and experience juggling multiple projects with potentially conflicting resource/time constraints
