The Manager, Corporate Tax will manage Nordson's global tax accounting process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of the quarterly and annual worldwide consolidated income tax provision, lead documentation efforts and ensure an effective control environment. This is a key role supporting the tax reporting and compliance processes, domestic tax function and strategic tax initiatives and will be responsible for driving process improvements, implementing and leveraging technology and driving automation. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities * Manage the timely and accurate completion of the global tax provision under ASC 740 and related financial statement disclosures in compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including preparation and/or review of tax analyses, journal entries and audit documentation. * Prepare US GAAP tax technical accounting research, memos, SOX documentation and audit support for applicable transactions related to, but not limited to, effective tax rate, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, and other areas of the global provision. * Assist with detailed reviews and provide guidance to the tax team in preparation of US federal & SALT quarterly estimates, extensions, income tax returns and global tax provision calculations. * Ensure alignment between tax return and tax provision calculations, including documentation and inclusion of the return to provision adjustment in the annual tax provision. * Manage tax technology solutions including OneSource OTP and OIT * Assist with M&A activities, including due diligence, deal structuring, purchase accounting and integration. * Lead documentation of SOX controls, including risk control matrix and ensure proper controls are implemented and are effective. * Manage communications with external auditors to facilitate completion of audit procedures related to income taxes in a timely and efficient manner. * Actively monitor and analyze accounting pronouncements and US federal & SALT legislation that may impact the company. * Assist with U.S. Federal and SALT tax audits and monitor status of global audits for tax accounting purposes. * Assist with training and developing the tax team and cultivating a continuous improvement culture. * Support other team members as required to meet the goals and objectives of the global tax department. * Support tax transformation initiatives through automation, data analytics, and implementing tax technology tools to simplify how the tax function operates. * Complete other responsibilities as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements Education: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution required. * CPA and/or Masters of Taxation or JD and LLM in Taxation preferred Experience: * Minimum 7 years taxation experience in Big Four or large, publicly traded multinational manufacturing company with 2+ years of management/supervisory experience. * M&A experience and strong knowledge of Subchapter C preferred * Ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy. * Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with OneSource (OTP & OIT) required.
