Abbott Cybersecurity Principal Engineer – Cloud Environment in Westford, Massachusetts

Our location in Westford, MA currently has an opportunity for a Cybersecurity Principal Engineer – Cloud Environment .


You will work with a cross-functional team of researchers, developers, systems engineers, marketing and product support to enable secure network and cloud connections to Abbott medical devices.

  • Develop requirements to support both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Design secure connectivity architectures that meet requirements.

  • Work with R&D team to develop detailed design and interface specifications.

  • Participate in and support the agile development, enhancements, and modifications to software source code, scripts, and procedures.

  • Write, update, or execute test design, cases, as well as procedures and reports results.

  • Write, update, and maintain requirement and interface specifications.

  • Contribute to and support root-cause analysis of failures.

  • Present at design review; document and resolve issues.

  • Reviews project deliverables such as specifications, code, and test/tool procedures for feasibility, thoroughness, clarity, correctness, and accuracy.

  • Provides work direction and mentors other engineers.

  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.



Minimum 10 years:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field.

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity in connected environments.

  • Experience in creating requirements for product development

  • Secure Cloud solution development

  • Experience working in software development environments


  • Master’s or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field

  • Product management skills

  • Experience in working with hospital IT infrastructure
