The Patient Safety Attendant provides support for a safe environment for the patient who may be mentally/emotionally incapacitated, confused, or at risk of injuring them self or others. Patient Safety Attendants also provide observation of patient activities under the direction of the registered nurse assigned to manage the patient’s plan of care.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with patient’s personal needs including feeding, positioning, toileting, ambulation as appropriate

  • Accompanies patients to different departments

  • Communicates pertinent clinical information to nurse

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions
