We're looking for a Director, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Technology in Anderson, SC. This position will lead the strategic plan & roadmap to select and deploy cutting-edge advanced manufacturing technologies and implement "best practices" throughout the global network of Vertiv manufacturing sites. To include a Key Focus on Additive Manufacturing process/tools/technology & provide thought leadership. The candidate ensures that there is consistency in the way all manufacturing technology projects are scoped, procured, executed, and sustained across plants. The individual will drive the research & development of advanced technologies & strategic initiatives that align with Vertiv's long term growth plans while maximizing the ROI to improve operational performance (SQDC) at Vertiv manufacturing sites. This position will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, process optimization, and innovation in our manufacturing processes. Plus is a Key Contributor to support of our Global NPDI Process & Quick-turn Proto-type capability. Responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES * Present thought leadership with the Additive Manufacturing offering and process innovation to drive a world class 3D printing operation * Identify and execute Capital Projects to continue to lead technical advancement, add capability and improve processes. * Constructively challenge the status quo to drive changes needed to implement and sustain process improvements; champion the development of a continuous improvement culture. Qualifications * the development & introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies, processes to drive operational excellence to meet customer and business objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. * As a Global Advanced Mfg Technology Director, you will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, process optimization, and innovation in our manufacturing processes. Candidate will do this by introducing the latest manufacturing technologies that enhance our ability to scale global capacity & create additional competitive advantages. * The candidate will create a structured methodology to enable the way we research, scope, standardize, procure, execute, and sustain advanced manufacturing technologies & test platforms across plants globally. * The candidate will drive Design for Automation & Design for Test process creation & continuous improvement within Vertiv's NPDI process. * The candidate will drive advanced manufacturing technology & test platform strategic initiatives and roadmap creation to support Vertiv's 3-5 year growth plans. What technologies, where to deploy them globally and when. * The individual will be able to adapt lessons learned from vastly different manufacturing processes and reapply the methods deemed best in class to the design & deployment of the technology roadmap globally. * In this role, the candidate will be technically capable to drive industry standards and set guidelines for electrical, controls, robotics, system software, and integration. * This includes providing leadership for analysis, design of the process, and facilitation of external system integrators to implement projects globally. * This candidate will lead a team of automation engineers, software engineers, test engineers & manufacturing technology engineers to execute on the strategies defined.
