EDG TECH is looking for Automation Professionals to support exciting projects in the Renewables, Energy Transition, Chemicals, Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas markets.  The Automation Professional II position will participate in the configuration, testing, and commissioning of automation technology platforms from ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Rockwell, and Yokogawa.  With mentors spanning industries and control platforms, EDG TECH provides an environment to pursue and develop your technical skills.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Interpret, analyze, and redline client engineering deliverables (i.e., P&IDs, Narratives, and Cause & Effects);
  • Create or modify Control Narratives and Cause & Effects;
  • Compile data in EDG TECH proprietary automation tools;
  • Define and develop HMI subpicture library elements and associated control logic;
  • Bulk build device control element and standard logic;
  • Work with client teams to define and develop HMI graphics;
  • Build complex logic, state-based control, regulatory control, advanced regulatory control, and other applications:
  • Support alarm rationalization workshops and implement results:
  • Configure and populate data historian and asset management system databases;
  • Participate in client witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests;
  • Review and provide input into design documents, change orders, material requisitions and specifications for construction or procurement use;
  • Interacts with client on all engineering and technical matters;
  • Support business development by participating in proposals and estimates.

     

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline preferred;
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of technical experience designing and implementing control systems;
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of total experience in the automation industry;
  • Technical hands-on knowledge of related engineering systems, engineering calculations, application of engineering and construction methods and materials, and engineering application of computer software;
  • Desire to learn plant production processes, systems, and new technologies;
  • Knowledge of project execution in automation projects;
  • Knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards;
  • Skill in oral and written communication;
  • Strong organizational skills related to engineering activities.

     

Working Conditions:

 

Work is primarily conducted in an office environment but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations;

Field duties require outdoor work in a construction site or in plant type atmosphere;

Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;

Working on a construction site or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels

Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department
