Atlantic Outboard Forklift Operator/Yard Captain in Westbrook, Connecticut

Position Title: Forklift Operator/Yard Captain

The Forklift Operator/Yard Captain is primarily responsible for launching and hauling boats, organizing the display/arrangement of boats on the dealership premises, and boat transportation to and from other locations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the safe and efficient moving of boats in and on the dealership property, including hauling, launching, and docking.
  • Coordinates transportation of boats, trailers, and motors to and from off-site locations including customer locations, boat shows, etc.
  • Coordinates/maintains the yard storage needs: stands, blocks, covers, etc.
  • Coordinates/schedules maintenance on yard trucks, trailers, and forklifts and maintains service records.
  • Monitors the overall flow of work in the yard and all yard maintenance.
  • Unload boats, trailers, engines and cargo.
  • Assist in various maintenance duties (property and equipment)
  • Assist the Service Department is moving service boats to and from the service bays.
  • Coordinate and manage the organization of warehouse.

Requirements:

  • Boating/trailering experience and prior marine dealership experience helpful
  • Professional appearance
  • Be team-oriented, self-motivated, and process driven.
  • Have a valid state drivers license and current DOT physical record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background/drug screen.
  • Safety and respect of Customer and Dealership property and equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week.

Pay can increase by experience level.
