Amazon Software Dev Engineer II in Westborough, Massachusetts

Description

You will create, optimize, and maintain cloud based services that support real-time, robotic and safety systems. You will work closely with hardware and firmware teams as well as customer support and manufacturing to develop services that support existing hardware systems as well as participating in developing new platforms.

In this role, you will challenge yourself to develop simple solutions to complex problems. The solutions you deliver will be high-performing, scalable, and meet the availability expectations of Amazon. You will champion automation, and generate efficiencies in our execution, for us and our customers.

  • Growth - You will have end-to-end ownership of scoping, design, development, test and deployment of our features across our regions globally. You will be part of a collaborative team that values strong intuition, but is data-driven and seeks metrics to challenge our biases. Everything we do is customer-centric, and you will raise the bar for us!

  • Collaboration - You will also work with a talented, enthusiastic and diverse team of software development engineers who are passionate about data and optimization. You will share your knowledge through documentation, design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.

A day in the life

As an experienced Software Development engineer, you will build and own software related to maintaining the worlds largest fleets of robotic and saftey system hardware. . You will work with a team of world-class software developers who thrive on creating innovative and scalable solutions for real-world challenges. You will build, validate, and support continuous integration and continuous delivery solutions to collect, enrich and vend robotic telemetry data using Python and Type Script. You will get to build the way you want using the full library of AWS technologies!

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing with Typescript or Python

  • Experience developing in the AWS cloud
