Job Description

The Sr. Portfolio Finance Manager will be responsible for providing Portfolio Finance support to the Single-Use Endoscopy (SUS) Portfolio leadership team, part of a growing $6B Olympus Medical Business. The incumbent will possess the ability to design, build and maintain complex financial models used to evaluate investment opportunities, perform make-buy analysis, perform complete portfolio financial valuation, and act as business partner in investment decision-making process. The incumbent will possess the ability to create long-term P&L forecasting based on existing business performance along with outcome of investment strategies to help guide the business in direction of future success.

Job Duties

  • Finance business partnership support to SUS leadership team to help guide towards long-term financial success of the SUS Portfolio. Lead and manage financial valuations related to all SUS organic and inorganic investment projects globally to enable Portfolio analysis, project prioritization and effective decision making by leadership team.

  • Effectively work and communicate with cross functional partners, including Regional Finance Teams, Project Management Office, and R&D Team. Challenge functional partners’ assumption to enable build of realistic, accurate, and comprehensive financial valuations.

  • Support SUS leadership team in preparation of Portfolio investment review and approval process.

  • Assist in the process of embedding outputs of review/approval meetings into SUS Finance Actuals & Budgeting/Forecasting processes, to be able to track performance of approved investments.

  • Support Global Portfolio Finance team in the annual process of consolidation of Strategic Portfolio, including validating for completeness and accuracy.

  • Lead and/or assist with adhoc tasks and projects as needed by SUS leadership and Global Portfolio Finance Team.

  • Manage and professionally develop direct reports.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent work experience.

  • Masters or MBA preferred.

  • At least 8 years of Finance or equivalent experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have strong PC Skills. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Must have experience support senior business partners.

  • Must have experience in building comprehensive financial models for Research and Development programs.

  • Must have experience in supporting portfolio valuation and project prioritization.

  • Must have experience in planning all aspects of project financial models including cannibalization, pull through, lost opportunity, and protecting base business.

  • Good Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
