WESCO Director - Operations in Westborough, Massachusetts

As the Director – Operations, you will be responsible for the performance of warehouse operations including pick, pack, and ship for multiple site locations. You will provide strategic leadership to optimize established levels of business performance and KPI measuring to attain best in class for on-time delivery, safety, quality control standards and productivity. You will partner as the distribution subject matter expert with leaders across the Supply Chain Operation and all business units to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages warehouse personnel and operation with an objective to improve efficiency and increase productivity.

  • Provide guidance on hiring, developing talent, and managing staff.

  • Leads a team to ensure objectives are met, including driving customer excellence plans, and managing performance targets, and employee performance management.

  • Drives LEAN methodologies to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.

  • Provides strategic and tactical leadership to achieve corporate goals.

  • Implements and communicates operational strategies and solutions consistent with business plans.

  • Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, internal audit control, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and business management quality system planning.

  • Partners with inventory control leaders to ensure region inventory needs and goals are met.

  • Sets and monitors operational budgets; P&L responsibility to attain budget goals.

  • Provides guidance to ensure business continuity and recovery plans are met.

  • Ensures operational policies and procedures are appropriate to business.

Qualifications:

  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Bachelors preferred.

  • 7-10 years of operation leadership experience in distribution center and/or warehouse environment (pick-pack-ship operation).

  • 5+ years’ experience managing varied organizations development projects and programs.

  • LEAN yellow belt certification.

  • Ability to execute a LEAN mentality in a distribution/warehouse environment.

  • Business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.

  • Strategic thinking skills and ability to work with senior management and regional teams.

  • Ability to identify external resources, develop, and manage relationships with vendors and other external and internal service providers.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of data analytics and performance and operation metrics

  • Ability to travel 25% - 50%.
