Description: Job Title: Advisor (1099) - Launch Process Engineer

Location: remote / travel within domestic U.S (Northeast)

Pay Rate: Up to $80.00/hour

Subcontract agreement (LLC or 1099)

Shift: Flexible as needed (often times days)

Position Overview:

As a Launch Process Engineer advisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and efficiency. This position demands a meticulous and proactive approach to oversee the layout validation of manufacturing processes, support production, and lead key projects related to equipment commissioning and decommissioning, as well as factory relocations.

Core job duties:

  • Layout Validation: Perform time studies to validate or suggest modifications for a layout supporting the production of 50+ units per week.

  • General Production Support: Provide frontline support to operators, ensuring smooth day-to-day manufacturing operations.

  • Process Improvement: Identify, suggest, and implement enhancements to boost production efficiency.

  • Documentation: Create and regularly update work instructions and manufacturing bills of materials (mBOM). Deliverables include revised BOMs and updated work instructions.

  • Project Management: Oversee the decommissioning and commissioning of equipment, manage factory relocations, and handle all aspects of project execution from planning to implementation.

  • Technical Support and Design: Utilize AutoCAD to verify parts and make necessary corrections, modify fixture designs, and provide escalation support using various documentation and tools.

  • Kitting and Assembly Support: Coordinate the kitting project for electronic equipment and support the assembly of cable bundles.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years as a seasoned specialist or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in manufacturing and supply chain operations, ideally within high-tech industries like Robotics, Automotive, Aerospace, or Industrial manufacturing.

  • Education: Bachelor"s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or other quantitative discipline. Consideration also given to candidates with an Associate"s Degree and extensive experience in relevant systems.

  • Systems Expertise: Proficient in Oracle EBS, Agile PLM, and EDI transactions. Ability to efficiently use AutoCAD for design adjustments and verifications.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical, logical, and problem-solving skills. High proficiency in creating and managing models using Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Tableau.

  • Project Management: Capable of operating independently onsite to professionally represent the organization while supporting the interests of multiple stakeholders.

  • Operational Agility: Ability to operate with speed and precision. Ready to travel as needed and deploy rapidly on short notice to address assessments, supply chain disruptions, or project improvement initiatives.

  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical assembly and direct supervision of assembly lines. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and change management.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Skilled in creating and updating technical documentation and work instructions. Able to manage document control and ensure adherence to the latest industry standards and regulations.

  • Industry Background: Previous experience working with OEMs, suppliers, and tooling and machine operations in a technical industry is highly beneficial.
