Surgical Technologist (ST)

Reading Hospital is a Center for Bariatric Surgery, total joints, cardiac, DaVinci Robot, ENT, Ortho, GYN, Breast Stereotaxic program, and a Level I Trauma Center caring for 17,000 patients undergoing surgical procedures each year. Reading Hospital has 24 brand new operating rooms, 6 with hybrid capabilities, including robotic surgery. Advancements in spinal surgery including minimally invasive procedures along with stealth-guided navigation systems for brain surgery and shunt placement are found in our ORs.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical instruments and equipment.

  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.

  • Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.

  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as required.

  • Ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.

  • Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
