Job Summary: This position plays a crucial role in the efficient functioning of the hospital by managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies, equipment, and other relevant materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and Inspection:

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of medical supplies, equipment, and other materials.

  • Verify the accuracy of received items against purchase orders and packing slips.

  • Identify and report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments.

  • Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an organized and efficient storage system for all received items.

  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in conducting regular inventory audits.

  • Rotate stock and ensure that items are stored in accordance with established guidelines.

  • Distribution:

  • Collaborate with other materials team members to fulfill requisitions and distribute requested items.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of distribution and receiving.

  • Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to address any issues related to shipments or inventory.

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines governing the receipt and storage of medical supplies.

  • Participate in quality assurance programs and initiatives.

  • Equipment Handling:

  • Safely handle and transport medical equipment, ensuring proper care and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Forklift operation to move pallets, etc.

  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.

  • Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of received shipments, inventory levels, and distribution activities.

  • Generate reports as required and assist in data analysis related to inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or related field is a plus.

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate material handling equipment.

  • Familiarity with relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
