Universal Health Services Regional Controller - Acute in WEST PALM BEACH, Florida

UHS is hiring a Regional Controller - Acute to support multiple facilities by providing direct oversight of the finance department. This role will interact with the multiple departments across the system, ensuring proper utilization and accounting of capital and operating resources in accordance with Corporate and Region financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and supervise the finance staff for Eastern Florida and South Carolina Markets, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Payroll. Ensure that the staff provides the highest level of technical accuracy and service excellence to all customers

  • Coordinate and supervise the completion of the monthly financial statements and financial package for the Eastern Florida and South Carolina Markets. This includes reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Complete all tax documents specific to the Eastern Florida and South Carolina Markets. Includes annual tax package, property tax accruals, sales and use tax returns, state payroll withholding tax returns and unemployment tax returns

  • Coordinate and supervise the completion of the annual operating budget financial statements including all income and expense reports and statistical reports for the Eastern Florida and South Carolina markets

  • Work with various departments across the individual facilities in the Eastern Florida and South Carolina markets to ensure the proper utilization and accounting of capital and operating resources

  • Coordinate and supervise the retrieval and development of all supporting documents and analysis related to internal and external audits for the Eastern Florida and South Carolina markets. The audits include (but are not limited to); Medicare Cost Report and Sarbanes-Oxley

  • Complete/coordinate ad hoc projects and prepares related spreadsheets, analysis and other materials needed to support the Eastern Florida and South Carolina markets

    Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 8 - 10 years' financial experience.

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Hospital finance or accounting experience preferred

  • CPA preferred
