Summary

Our company has an immediate opening for aFinish Motor Grader OperatorinWest Palm Beach, Fl. TheFinish Motor Grader Operatoris responsible for the precise grading and finishing of roadways, preparing surfaces for paving, and ensuring quality and safety standards on civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating motor graders and maintaining a high standard of workmanship, with an emphasis on safety and compliance with project specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate motor graders for fine grading and finish work on roadways, highways, and other civil construction projects.
  • Ensure the smooth and even surface of roadways by following project plans, specifications, and site instructions.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the grader equipment to ensure functionality and safety, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Safely operate motor grader with precision, adjusting controls to regulate blade height, angle, and pitch.
  • Follow safety guidelines and ensure that all operations comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and other equipment operators to coordinate project progress and ensure timely completion.
  • Perform minor maintenance and adjustments to the grader to ensure smooth operation.
  • Document daily activities, maintenance performed, and any safety incidents or concerns.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience operating a finish motor grader on road construction projects.
  • Valid driver's license; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with GPS-controlled grading equipment is a plus.
  • Understanding of road construction processes, safety procedures, and grading equipment.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules such as nights, weekends, and overtime.
  • Undergo drug test, fit-for duty test and background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Work in a physically demanding outdoor environment with potential exposure to heat, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • May require extended hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project needs.
